Subject Description:
This course is designed to take students with a basic knowledge of video production into the
intricate field of Digital Film Production and Post Production. Students are introduced to more
advanced feature film style production techniques to produce a short digital film.
Performance Objectives:
Describe fundamentals of feature film production processes utilizing digital technology
Advanced lighting techniques for digital film
Demonstrate advanced post production techniques for 24P
Advanced camera operations and techniques
Engage in pre-production procedures including storyboarding, scriptwriting, budgeting, production, contracting, and scheduling
Utilize advanced lighting techniques
Prerequisites:
Must successfully complete: DFP101

Week 1: Review of Fundamentals presented in DFP101
Week 2: Visualization Tools of Pre-production, Sketching, Storyboarding
Week 4: Script Analysis
Week 5: Cinematography Continuity and Conventional Shots
Week 6: Action Sequence Assembly
Week 7: Pre-production, Post Production, Shot logging, Digitizing Source Footage
Week 8: Shot Sequence
Week 9: Pre-production, Casting, Crewing Final Project
Week 10: Production and Post-production Scheduling for Final Projects
Week 11: Post Production, Rendering, Mastering
