DALLAS HOME TO NFL LEGEND TIM BROWN’S NEW INTERNATIONAL RADIO PROGRAM
“THE LEGENDS OF SPORT WITH TIM BROWN”

Irving, Texas – May 7, 2010- MediaTech Institute and Game On Sports Productions of Dallas
are teaming up to produce new programming on the Sports Byline USA Radio Network.
Premiering on May 12, 2010, “The Legends of Sport with Tim Brown” is a new one-hour sports
talk show hosted by NFL legend and former Notre Dame Heisman Trophy winner, Tim Brown.
Brown spent seventeen years with the Los Angeles/ Oakland Raiders/Tampa Bay Buccaneers,
during which he established himself as one of the NFL's most prolific wide receivers. His fame
and success with the Raiders organization earned him the title of “Mr. Raider” and led to a
nomination to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010.
“The Legends of Sport with Tim Brown” will feature one-on-one conversations with famous
legends past and present in the world of sports and entertainment. Former Dallas Cowboy,
Everson Walls and former Dallas Cowboys vice president of player personnel, Gil Brandt, will
speak with Brown on the show’s debut broadcast. “I love this type of show”, says Brown who is
also a veteran broadcaster. “This is the type of show that I prefer to do rather than bantering with
callers. It also gives me a chance to voice my opinions as well as get my subjects to open
up and feel free to say what is on their mind.”
Thomas Bailey, veteran sports analyst and former sports talk show host and President of
Game On Sports Productions of Dallas, is the executive producer of the show. Past and
present students from MediaTech Institute are handling all of the production work and the
broadcasts are all recorded at MediaTech’s expansive facilities in Las Colinas. Students and
graduates of the MediaTech Institute Recording Arts program are producing the show in two
26-week segments. Bailey says this of his youthful production team; “I have been involved in
sports broadcasting and producing radio and television shows for 30 years. I have to say, I have
been very impressed in working with the MediaTech crew who are extremely professional, have
a good sense of direction, and they really know what they are doing,” states Bailey.
“We are very excited to add Tim Brown to our programming lineup. His name alone will
l attract big name guests and that’s putting it mildly. His knowledge and reputation as a straight
up guy is something many people in the sports world respect and we are looking forward to a
long relationship,” states Darren Peck, President of Sports Byline USA.
“The Legends of Sport with Tim Brown” will air twice each Saturday on the Sport Byline USA Radio
Network, one of the most popular networks in the country. Show times are tentatively schedule for
10am Central Standard Time and an encore at 9pm Central Standard Time. Also the show can
be heard at: www.sportsbyline.com. The show will reach over two million listeners per week on
nearly 200 radio stations and can be heard internationally on American Forces Network, iTunes,
US and World Airways and Sirius XM radio.

“Behind The Scenes” of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
Students of the Digital Film Program at MediaTech Institute have completed production of the
“Behind The Scenes” documentary focused on a Dallas area episode of the hot ABC TV show,
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
Taking full advantage of this incredible learning opportunity, MediaTech film students shot,
edited and crewed the production on a 24 hour-a-day schedule. The student crew had been
given “full access” privileges on the set and worked side-by-side with the network crews who
are producing the episode that was aired this past September.
The MediaTech Institute crew chronicled the development of the entire episode. From the family
selection, through the demolition and construction phases and finally to the grand unveiling of the
finished product, MediaTech was there every step of the way. You can be sure they captured
all the emotional outpouring that accompanies every episode.
This documentary showed the generosity of the dozens of corporate sponsors that goes into every
episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. MediaTech Institute partnered with Cheldan Homes,
the main contractor behind the episode, to create a film that will serve to inspire and reward everyone involved. Once completed, the film is shown regularly on the Cheldan web site, and copies have
been given as awards to the many volunteers and sponsors involved in changing a family’s lives
through this tremendous ABC series.
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition airs on ABC on Sunday evenings at 8pm, 7 central, be sure to
catch every episode and check out our documentary which is shown on the Cheldan website.
Local Indie Filmmakers Offer Free Public Screening of New Sci Fi Drama
An independent short film, entitled
"PROTOCOL 47", made by local student filmmakers will be presented Thursday, March 18, 2010 at the Studio Movie Grill- Lewisville, 1600 S. Stemmons Freeway (at Corporate Drive) Lewisville, Texas 75067. The film will be shown at two different screening times one at 6:30 PM and another at 8:30 PM.
The film is produced by the MediaTech Institute-Dallas Campus in Las Colinas.
"PROTOCOL 47" is an intense, character driven drama starring Stephanie Rhodes of "Friday the 13th" (2009) and directed by Russian born Valentina Vladi. In addition to "PROTOCOL 47", a companion behind-the-scenes documentary film about the making of "PROTOCOL 47" will also be shown. There will be a filmmaker Q & A providing a unique opportunity for other aspiring filmmakers or screenwriters to receive inside perspectives.
In "PROTOCOL 47" a secret nuclear research facility is testing a new power source when an accident happens. A new type of radiation is created that alters the researchers into a myriad of things. Some go mad and attack others, some become depressed and kill themselves, but others make a startling change. It is up to those in a distant control facility to decide whether the researchers live or whether they invoke the dreaded "PROTOCOL 47". PARENTAL ADVISORY: FILM CONTAINS ADULT LANGUAGE, LIGHT GORE and VIOLENCE.
"For PROTOCOL 47 I wanted to create a new point of view in science fiction that fused action and dramatic elements with a character driven story. The characters were to be real people faced with a grim and incredible situation and I wanted to show how they each dealt with the situation, some heroically, some with fear and violence. In the end I want the audience to think 'what would I have done'? states Director, Valentina Vladi of Denton .
The companion behind-the-scenes film is an amusing look at the chaotic process in which a narrative entertainment student film comes together, their challenges and triumphs with insight into the fascinating film industry. “The film is in a totally Hollywood style with real schedules, intricate, realistic in-studio sets with professional actors. The seriousness and intensity of moviemaking professionalism and creativity is definitely evident”, states Keith Randal Duncan, Executive Producer and Instructor.
The makers of "PROTOCOL 47" plan to extend the short film into a full-length feature. The film’s short version will be promoted in festivals in order to gain notoriety and be put before industry as well as potential distributors.

MediaTech and Christmas of Compassion
Christmas of Compassion
Christmas of Compassion is a project of Cross Timbers Community Church, located in Argyle,
Keller, and Denton, Texas. This site is provided as a free service to the local and global
community. Cross Timbers does not retain any of these donation gifts, but simply forwards
each gift to the six charity recipients.
This year, Cross Timbers asks, “Instead of giving something to someone this Christmas who
doesn’t really need anything, why not give a gift to someone who doesn’t have much of anything,
and really make a difference in that person’s life?”
MediaTech Institute was honored to donate videography and editing services to help
make this project a success.

WHAT’s HOTT! ABOUT MITRIXXX THE MAD SCIENTIST!
Extensive showmanship in commitment and aspiration!
Originally a rapper/songwriter, what started off as a hobby, due to lack of beats and studio accessibility, eventually became a passion in disguise, one that would forever alter the path of Mitrxxx’s musical journey. His versatility comes from his receptive ear to all genres: from Hip-Hop,
to Ethnic music, from Drum and Bass, to Pop, he is determined do it all. The young producer, views himself as a “leader of the new world of music.” He further states, “I strive to make music that will stand the test of time.” His skills involve songwriting, engineering, arrangement, composition, sound design, live instrumentation, and creativity. Just like any path to success, his musical steps began at an earlyage. In the 4th grade, he wrote his first song, which was performed in front of the entire school. Becoming more involved in the arts, Mitrxxx joined choir and other extracurricular art/writing
programs. As his hunger for music grew, he started to gain interest in hip-hop production.
At the age 15, he earned enough money from his summer earnings, and purchased his first drum machine, a DR-202 Dr. Groovebox. He wasted no time and began doing production work for local artists, which in turn generated buzz. He eventually would contribute to the launch of Plagued Out Productionz, which dropped classics such as “Street Collection v.1″, “The U Re-Mixtape”, and “U Wanna Autograph”, which in turn gained regional noise. To further pursue his craft for music, in 2004 he relocated to Dallas, Texas, where he attended Dallas Sound Labs MediaTech Institute. Mitrxxx first official placement was for Bobby Valentino’s “Special Occasion: Limited Edition.” He states, “From that moment forth, I knew my goal to gain access into the music industry was no longer a dream.”
He continues to work day in and day out, tweaking and formulating new sounds, to assure his lead amongst the pack of copycat producers. Mitrxxx aspires to be one of the leading names of music production and sound. With goals of dabbing into different genres and television/movie scoring,
the eyes are to the sky for this young, fresh, new producer.

Local Songwriters Rise to Top
After eight years trying to break into the music biz in Greece, lead singer and guitarist, George Miadis, arrived in the U.S. from Greece with his old friend, songwriter and guitarist, Bill Mantza (Vasileios Mantzanas), just two short years ago. George Miadis came to the U.S. to polish the band and receive training to produce their own original music album. He researched sound engineering and music training facilities in New York and LA, but found them to costly. "Texas was the best opportunity, and the Dallas MediaTech Institute recording arts program was the premier recording and video arts facility in Texas," states Miadis.
After meeting future band members, his classmate in Mediatech and bass player, Daniel Schmuck, Irving resident and drummer, Roy Oteo, Miadis invited his friend Vasileios to the US to start working on the band’s developing. The group soon had a following playing in many local venues and events including The Wildflower Festival where they opened up for well known bands such as Seven Mary Three, the Guess Who and Blue Oyster Cult. "We decided to name the band Epitas which is an ancient Greek saying coming from two words ‘epi tas’. When Spartan warriors went to war the women would say ‘ I tan I epi tas’ which means ‘come back with your shield or on it’ meaning come back victorious or dead because they did not believe in retreating. This is our philosophy developing our English rock alternative album. I said I am going to America and get the best training available to succeed in the music industry and the band will succeed," states Miadis.
Their debut album, Epitas, has been released as an independent production and is available in some local stores, online at Itunes and Amazon.com, and can be seen on www.myspace.com/epitas. Well known LA studio owner and music producer Sylvia Massy saw the myspace clip, and invited the group to LA to talk possible record deals. "Sylvia has worked with some of the top names in music including Tool, System Of a Down, Johnny Cash and Tom Petty. "We plan to take all our knowledge from MediaTech on how to promote our band, press kits, record production and the business of music and get in the game. The next level is a record deal," states Miadis.

Rob Fedson, Director of Education for MediaTech was a keynote speaker at the first annual
“So Your Kid Wants To Be A Rock Star” Symposium held in Austin on November 10, 2008.

industry and the need for post-secondary education in fostering the technical experience needed
to be proficient in the broad range of skills required to have a chance at a long and prosperous
career in the music business. Other speakers included members of popular “under 18” bands
working in the Austin area, Rob Carter, a prominent music industry lawyer, who also happens to
sit on the MediaTech Program Advisory Committee and Austin Chronicle music journalist Margaret

MediaTech Reaches Finals In 24 Hour Video Race
The Video Association of Dallas has completed its 7th year hosting The 24-Hour Video Race
competition. The May contest is a fun filmmaking competition, in which teams of amateur to
professional videomakers have 24 hours to write, shoot, edit and score an original short film.
The winning videos are screened at the 21st Annual Dallas Video Festival and also on Frame
of Mind, a television program on KERA Ch. 13. Each video must follow a set of criteria on Theme,
Prop, Location, and Line of Dialogue. This year's theme was "Twist of Fate, the Prop was a key,
the location was "anywhere a sport is played", and the dialogue must include "How much is this
going to cost me?”
MediaTech Institute's Digital Film Studios in Irving and fourteen of its Video Arts students enrolled
in the 24-Hour Video Race competition for the first time. The MediaTech team produced a finalist
winning video called "The Key Party" which later was featured on KERA TV. Out of 96 competing
teams, 31 teams dropped out. "This event is a cross between a film festival and a simply fun time.
The MediaTech entry was a cerebral art piece with a constant twist that was quite a bit different from
the other entries. Becoming a top finalist speaks volumes about the quality of knowledge and
expertise the MediaTech student's have attained," states Eric Jewell entrant and MediaTech
Institute film instructor.
